Electronics – Level 1

Learn to build electrical circuits with LEDs, resistors, buttons, buzzers, and other electronic components. This class for students in grades 7 through 12 includes the electronics kit needed for the projects that students will complete.

In this course, students will learn:

* the differences between open and closed circuits
* the purpose and roles for resistors in an electrical circuit
* the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance in an electrical circuit (Ohm's Law)
* how to draw schematic diagrams to describe an electrical circuit
* how to use Tinkercad to build virtual prototypes for electrical circuits
* how to construct electrical circuits using a breadboard

Registration includes the electronics kit needed to complete the projects in this class.

Each week, the instructor will guide students through the next steps in the current project, answering questions and providing additional explanations as they go. Students will then work independently in the days before the next session to move the project forward.
